The rain has stopped, which meant I was able to walk to work today, which I quite enjoyed. I jogged after work in the lovely Oaks Park - there were a few dog walkers out, but no fellow joggers today...
I only did one lap, which is about two miles, which isn't too bad after only one day of rest after the half marathon on Sunday- usually I would take a week off. Serious.
Later I will try and map the routes, both the Oaks Park one, and the walk to work as I'd be interested to see how far they are.
In the meantime, here's a photo of the cake I made for my Cupcake back in April. She persuaded me to use Betty Crocker vanilla frosting (when I would usually make my own), and whilst it tasted nice, it gave me the most horrendous heartburn that kept me up all night - oddly Krispy Kreme also have that effect...
That cake looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great cake - my youngest has asked for a Jack Sparrow cake for his birthday - any ideas!! Well done for getting out running today usually I still walking like a penguin..
ReplyDeleteThank you abradypus. It was lovely, I love baking and would do more if I had the time. I'm taking a break from it at the moment though, after making a croquembouche for 100 people and a wedding cake at the end of May.. It very nearly killed me !
ReplyDeleteHi mumwhatruns, check out my 'Ten years of cake decorating' link - top left of the page - maybe that will give you inspiration.. there's a pirate one on there too.. altho it's not that good. My best advice: keep it simple. If you google 'Sparrow cake' there are some quite impressive results. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. :o)
ReplyDeleteThis is the first time I've managed to move/run so quickly after a half, does that mean I'm getting fitter ???? :o)
